You Have a Title Deed (Matt. 7:7,8)

“I’m sorry, sir, but we can’t find your name on our system’s records,” the receptionist told Frederick.

An exhausted Frederick had walked confidently into the reception hall of the four-star hotel where Moyo, his friend, had reserved a booking for him the day before. He had flown in from Abuja and had endured several hours of heavy traffic jam from the Murtala Mohammed airport to the heart of Lagos Island. It was almost midnight and he needed adequate rest before his speech at a businessmen’s conference scheduled for 9am the next day. Moyo had sent him a scanned copy of the receipt of payment by email which he’d printed out. Nonetheless he was now confronted with a mix-up of sorts.

He reached for his briefcase and brought out the evidence of payment, which clearly had the seal of the hotel. The receptionist did a recheck using details of the hotel’s backup server and apologetically confirmed his booking. Thereafter, he was escorted by a porter to his room.

Christians have a Title Deed which they can confidently present to the Throne of Grace in the time of need. It is as real and reliable as God Himself, a title deed that needs no other plea. This title deed refers to God’s Promises in the Scriptures. One of them as stated by Jesus Christ is

“Ask, and it shall be given you;… For every one that asketh receiveth…” (Matthew 7:7‭-‬8)

The Bible is replete with reassurance from God that He hears us and will answer when we call on Him according to His will. We can always approach the Throne of Grace with God’s promises on our lips, resting assured that He will grant us all that our hearts desire. ????????
