A life Experience
Michael Jordan, a basketball player who was adjudged one of the best basketball players of all time, knew failure as a close associate during his career. He was an exceptional basketball player with unprecedented dexterity in basketball. Even with his dexterity and passion, he wasn’t spared from failing.
In his words, “I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game-winning shot, and I missed. I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
Jordan was not moved by the event of setbacks and failures. He knew that for him to be a super success, he must go through the failure route. He understood that if he fails faster, he will obviously learn faster and eventually succeed faster.
Great men never give up
History is filled with loads of great men and women whose lives were filled with catalogues of failure and setbacks. However, with these failures, they still achieved the extraordinary and their names were written in the sands of time.
Hmmm, you might be wondering……How did these great men succeed even with all their catalogues of failures and setbacks? It’s simple. They tried again! They refused to give up.
The past few years have been rough and turbulent with the pandemic, the restrictions and enforced policies that affected companies and businesses. Some companies downsized, and the rate of unemployment increased. Some other businesses could not survive but closed down.
In similar vein, some individuals had lofty plans for their career, business, and even in other spheres, but these plans failed right before their eyes, and hence, could not achieve anything worthwhile in the past years.
Don’t be discouraged
Dear friends, Don’t be discouraged about the setbacks you might have encountered in pursuit of your goals. Never give in to the words of discouragement and unpalatable situations around you. You can begin again.
- You can give it another shot….
- You can send that proposal again…
- You can propose again to that partner you are convinced God has for you….
- You can re-apply for the loan you need to start your business…..
- You can re-apply for that admission….
- You can re-apply for that job……….
Dear friend, you can begin again!
