The lion is a symbol of strength, power and courage. Known as the king of the jungle, their fierceness keeps other predators distant from their cubs.
It is common for some house owners to put up a signpost on which is written the warning: “Beware of Dogs!” This is done to deter burglary acts. I can imagine a sign with the words “Beware of a Lion”, indicating the presence of a dreaded lion within a certain premise! Surely, such a house would be fully secured from thieves and other intruders!
In the Bible, Jesus Christ has a metaphoric identity as “The Lion of the tribe of Judah” (Hosea 5:14). To him, the powerful and majestic attributes of a lion are ascribed.
With Jesus’ presence in a Christian’s home, predators and intruders (in form of sicknesses, woes, demonic oppressions, satanic attacks, acts of men of the underworld, etc) see Him as a Lion that stands as a Guard; and they dare not come close! This is the faith and confidence that any believer should have when he is in the right standing with God.
Do you have the Lion of the Tribe of Judah as your Guard?
