What You Need To Keep Your Vision Alive

If I ask if you have a vision for your life, you’ll probably give a big YES. And then go on to share where you want to see yourself, what you want to achieve, and the impact you desire to make in life.

It’s one thing to have a vision, and another to keep it alive. To preserve it until you possess it.

For most people, the beginning of a new year is another time to visit visions – new or renewed. Two months over in the new year, there’s a possibility for hard times and crowded life to quench the flame of those visions.

In the words of Joel A. Barker, “Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world.”

I know you want your visions to change the world, not just a vision that dies on paper.

Here are 3 things you need to keep your vision alive:

A Compelling WHY:

Your “why” is the cause, reason, or purpose for that vision. Your WHY will be the strong driving force that will keep you on your toes, pursuing your vision day after day.  Remember, a vision is not a mere wish or nice-to-have. Neither is it something you simply put down because everyone talks about visions. It must be something that pulls a string in your heart. If you are working on something exciting that you really care about, you don’t have to be pushed. The vision pulls you. (Steve Jobs)

Clear image:

You can’t be what you can’t see, said Marian Wright Edelman. Deep truth. No wonder even when God wanted Abraham to keep the vision of the grand future He had for him alive, He asked him to go count the stars if he could. You need to keep a clear image of where you’re going before you. A physical one that will help you fix it in your mind’s eyes.  So, do you have those visions represented on a vision board?

A vision board is a powerful way to engage the subconscious mind and Law of Attraction to make your visions and goals attainable. Find out how to create one, and your vision board to keep those visions alive in your heart always.

Constant focus:

Focus is key to anything you want to achieve. Our world is loaded with distractions – different things calling for your attention. Invest more of your time in activities that move you towards the realization of your visions. This requires discipline.

As you wake up each morning with that strong why tugging your heart, a clear image of where you’re going before you, and a dose of focus, that vision will stay alive. Soon, it will become a reality.
