WHY YOU NEED TO DRINK MORE WATER
Drinking water regularly has a lot of advantages, including:
▪Keeping your skin looking younger and fresher, by keeping your skin tissues hydrated.
▪Easing your bowel movement. Your body finds it easy to carry nutrients and waste between all your major organs.
▪Reducing your tendency to have headaches, heartburn, urinary infections, low blood pressure, kidney stones, constipation, or cognitive impairment.
▪Making you feel more alert and less tired as you work daily.
▪Maintaining a balanced weight as well as lose excess weight.
STAYING HYDRATED ALL DAY LONG
A good general target is to have eight glasses of water a day. Some ways you can stay hydrated include the following:
- Make it a habit to take a glass of water first thing in the morning and last thing at bedtime.
- Have a bottle of water by your bedside before bedtime so that you can have a drink of water first thing in the morning.
- Create a target of taking a glass of water every 2-3 hours.
- Incorporate more water-rich foods into your diet. E.g. Watermelons.
Note that to maintain good hydration, you may need to increase your water intake if you’re a physically active person, having diarrhea, or during hot weather.
