PUT YOUR WHOLE WORLD INTO GOD’S HANDS

What do you do when you don’t know how you feel? And you know nobody knows how you feel?

Sebastian was a sailor in the early 40s. On one of his voyages, there was a mishap on his ship and the ship sunk in the middle of the sea. He alone survived.

He managed to swim for hours until he got to an island. He was stranded. With no form of communication. Then he gathered some sticks and leaves from the island and constructed a tent for himself. And also got a few materials from the island with which he also constructed a fishing net.

He would wake up, go to the bank of the water and get some fishes to roast. While eating, he hoped that soon a ship may pass nearby and come to his rescue.

One Remarkable Day

But nay, he was on the island for many days with no rescue. After spending several days on the island, it rained heavily on this day. Thereafter, he gathered some sticks to make the fire. But the sticks were not dry enough to bring up fire-flame.

So he decided to go to the bank of the water to get more fish rather than wait for the fire.

While he was away, the fire lighted and got his tent. Upon seeing the heavy smoke, he came to his tent, lo-and-behold, it was on fire. There was little he could do. He started crying and blaming God. Asking why God would allow all these ills to befall him.

Unknown to Sebastian, some sailors on the voyage had also noticed the smoke from afar off. They wondered how and why smoke rose from the middle of the sea.

The sailors decided to trace the smoke. When they got to the island, they saw Sebastian lying hopelessly and helplessly. They reached out to him and rescued him, and he then narrated his ordeal to them.

Assurance In Every Situation

Sometimes in life, we find ourselves at “the end of the earth” – in seemingly hopeless situations and no solution at sight. When you are in a desperate situation and crying for help, just be rest assured that God still hears our prayers and will respond to them appropriately.

God’s care for his children is like the moon and sun; it is constant. Whether it is obscured by the clouds, it doesn’t mean it is not there. God is still God both in the night and in the day. As long as we remain connected to God, He is ever faithful, powerful, and dependable. Praying to Him will guarantee rest and peace to our souls, and He will intervene to deliver us from situations too hard for us to handle.

Many a time what we’re going through in life may be permitted by God in other to avert a greater evil in the future. Ruminating upon troubles is a bitter work that will drain our energy and dissipate our faith in God.

HELP AND BURDEN BEARER TO CALL UPON

If you are going through a wilderness of tough times and uncertainties, the depth of our uncertainties and seeming hopelessness should compel us to call upon God. And put our whole world into His hand.

We can call upon Him in whatever situation we find ourselves. The advantage we have as believers is that whenever we call upon Him, He will come to our rescue and deliver us from every challenging situation.

When we seek God with all our heart, no matter the situation we find ourselves in, He will give us comfort and gladness. God will respond to show us His power and glory.

Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. (Psalm 55:22)

I waited patiently for the Lord, and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD. Many, o LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done… (Psalm 40:1,3,5).

When your strength fails, and troubles are still unceasing, hold on! Put your faith in God. Rest in Him. God will grant you your request.
