Hope!

Kehinde, an exceptional entrepreneur, began his entrepreneurship journey with zeal and confidence. Within two years, Kehinde had taken his company to an enviable pedestal with the needed competitive edge. His company became a force to be reckoned with in the tech industry. However, within a few years, he became a toast for investors to invest in his business. His business continued to grow, in leaps and bounds, with branches in the four regions of the country.

Unfortunately, the joyous moments of exceptional growth and industry-wide popularity were abruptly cut short when the company was hit by the raging recession, massive corruption within its systems, and the inability to key into the dynamic trends prevalent.

However, shockingly, instead of calling for a pity party, or becoming downcast and discouraged, Kehinde accepted the sole responsibility of the unpalatable situation that hit his company, went back to the drawing board with his trusted team, to analyze and strategize with the hope of a big comeback!

Definition of Hope

But, what is hope? Hope is a feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen, against all odds.

However, I define hope as:

H- Holding

O- on to

P- positive and productive

E- expectations, against all odds.

Based on the situations prevalent in this world- the insecurity, economic challenges, natural disasters, and other prevailing situations, no man can attain greatness, surpass all norms, break the yoke of mediocrity, without a full dose of hope.

Hope is the reason why a man who is battered and lost all he has, would still remain resolute to continue trying.

It is the reason after losing your job, you keep searching, and still hope for a better job.

Hope is the reason after you were rejected, you kept up with the right attitude, and still pressed further to try again.

Furthermore, hope is the reason when they messed up your shine, despised you, stoned you with words of discouragement, because of your present unpalatable state, and you still look past that, believing that whatever the unpalatable situations bedevilling you will be a thing of the past.

Biblical examples

Abraham, who was challenged with having kids at a time, by default was supposed to be discouraged and angry with God, thus disregarding God’s instruction with passion, but the reverse was the case. Even with his seemingly hopeless situation, he continued to hope, and trust God, and even obeyed all his commandments.

The Holy book gave a vivid record of him, saying, “who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, so shall thy seed be, however, being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about a hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb”.

No wonder God blessed Abraham beyond measure.

How about Joseph, who was sold to Egypt and found himself in a state completely different from the dream he had? Joseph, however, had hope and held on to his dream of greatness.

Hope

Dear friend, no matter what you are going through, please understand that your challenges are not new. Some great men of old went through it and even worse situations, but they remained resolute, feeding on the food of hope and believing that their challenges will become history, which eventually was.

My friend, have you just been laid off?

Have you been searching for a job without much success?

Similarly, have you been praying frantically for your God-given spouse but your prayers seem unanswered?

Have you been praying for financial breakthrough, but your situation seems unchanging, just like the poverty-stricken state of Lazarus in the Bible?

Friend, during this time, all you need to do is to keep working diligently on your desires, keep praying and hope!

Your seeming hopeless situation is but for a season. Trust the process and  HOPE for a better future!
